Black Women in Business

Posted by Tempest Moore on

Hi Kendra! Thank you for taking the time to interviewing with Black Girl Society. Can you tell us about your brand and how long you have been in business for yourself?

My brand, Fit For A Queen was started last year, but will be up and running officially 3/1/2020.

What services does Fit For A Queen offer?

Fit For A Queen offers: Coaching, motivation, inspiration, tips for a healthy lifestyle and limited online training

Why did you choose this field?

I have always been interested in the health and fitness industry, however it didn’t become something I took seriously until after I became a mom. I want to leave a legacy for my daughter, and continue to be an inspiration to other women to always strive for greatness and be the best versions of themselves. My brand is all about uplifting and empowering women to value themselves as queens. Being a woman is hard and no one understands that more than another woman so we should always uplift and encourage our fellow queens.

Health is definitely important. Where would you like to see Fit For A Queen in 5 years?

I, of course, would love to have my own fitness center, apparel, supplements, and an all around successful fitness brand. I also would love to expand my brand outside of fitness and add some outreach activities and non profit organizations for troubled young girls.

What is one thing that being in business for yourself has taught you?

Patience and prioritizing is key. I have several hats that I wear so making time for everything I do is extremely important, but no matter how tough it gets #QueensDontQuit
