Black Women in Business
Hi Carlisha! Thank you for taking time to interview with Black Girl Society! Can you please tell us about your business?
C: My business is Mrs. V Custom Events Boutique. We have been operational for 10 months. At Mrs. V’s our main goal is to enable our customers to focus on enjoying their life while creating extraordinary memories. We provide an event design and coordinating service for custom weddings, parties, and special events. Our goal is to use our platform to contribute a percentage of the proceeds to 4 charitable causes annually to promote growth and change globally.
That sounds amazing! Why did you choose this field?
C: Our company’s origin began with a simple dream from Mrs. V’s childhood to experience her dream wedding without breaking the bank. Her success produced a desire to give back to others in her community to bring their events to life in a special way. By choosing to work with us you’re not just buying a service you’re investing in her purpose.
I love it! Where would you like to see your business in 5 years?
C: Even though we've just begun Mrs. V has plans to really take this event business to the next level. From creating educational content, hosting engaging events to promoting the event world; into creating her own venue to house all of her inventory and offices. Our team is constantly looking towards the future with dreams of building an event empire.
What is one thing that business has taught you?
C: Creating a business is a journey and not a sprint. If you're in it for a quick come up then you're in it for the wrong reason. Whenever you reach a roadblock, stop and evaluate your surroundings for tools that God has already provided for you.
